On World Pancreatic Cancer Day, 20th November 2025, the Jreissati Pancreatic Centre joined the global movement to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, one of Australia’s most challenging cancers.
Across Epworth Richmond, Freemasons, Eastern, Geelong, and Hawthorn, our teams hosted awareness booths for staff, clinicians, patients, and visitors. Educational materials and displays helped people learn more about the pancreas, early symptoms, and risk factors to support earlier detection and improved outcomes.
The interactive ‘Know Your Pancreas’ quiz was a highlight, with over 860 clinicians, staff, and community members taking part to test their knowledge and build awareness of pancreatic cancer symptoms.
In partnership with Inherited Cancers Australia, the Centre also launched a new awareness video featuring the APRISE Pancreatic Cancer Screening Program. APRISE is a national research study led by the Jreissati Pancreatic Centre, and is investigating whether regular screening can help detect pancreatic cancer earlier in people with a higher-than-average risk.

As part of the Australian Pancreatic Cancer Alliance’s Light Up campaign, the Centre’s new premises at 19 Erin Street was illuminated in purple, and represented a powerful symbol of hope and unity in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
World Pancreatic Cancer Day is a reminder that awareness saves lives. The Jreissati Pancreatic Centre remains dedicated to advancing research, expanding screening programs, and supporting people living with pancreatic cancer through education and care.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, took part in the quiz, and helped spread the word. Together, we are making a difference.
