Our vision:
Leading the research for early diagnosis and treatment options to improve survival for people living with pancreatic cancer.
The Jreissati Pancreatic Centre at Epworth is the only specialist centre in Australia exclusively dedicated to pancreatic disease. We put 100% of our funding straight into research and clinical care.
Our mission is built on four foundational pillars:
Clinical care
To improve patient outcomes and provide comprehensive care to all patients living with pancreatic cancer.
Our multidisciplinary team provides treatment and care for patients with pancreatic disease. This specialist team includes many different healthcare professionals. These professionals are centrally located within our centre and our hospital network.
Patient experience and advocacy
To provide patients and their families with a collective voice and improve access to and navigation of their care.
We aim to provide the very best in support and education for our patients. All of our patients will have a pancreatic nurse to support them and their family members to navigate their diagnosis, treatment, and care.
Research
To expand Australia’s research capacity in pancreatic cancer and increase access to pancreatic cancer-focussed clinical trials.
Our Centre runs and leads research studies and clinical trials covering every phase of patient diagnosis, treatment, and care. The goal is to provide patients living with pancreatic cancer with more treatment options irrespective of their cancer stage.
Community engagement and education
To raise awareness of the risk factors and early signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer to reduce time to diagnosis.
We are dedicated to improving outcomes by reducing diagnosis delays through increased community awareness, developing educational resources, and engaging with the community to promote understanding of early pancreatic cancer symptoms and diagnostic pathways.
