‘Walk for Rita’ (W4R) returns this July for its sixth year, continuing to bring communities together in a powerful legacy of hope, awareness, and unified action.
The Viridian Foundation’s ‘Walk for Rita’ initiative was born in 2021 following the devastating pancreatic cancer diagnosis of the company’s HR Director, Rita Agati. The annual step challenge raises funds and awareness for the vital research being undertaken at the Jreissati Pancreatic Centre at Epworth.
Although Rita sadly passed away just six months after the inaugural walk, her legacy lives on through every step taken. What began as a tribute has evolved into a meaningful demonstration of solidarity, with ‘Walk for Rita’ raising over $675,000 to date.
A Community United by Purpose
Each July, participants commit to get moving throughout the month, transforming everyday steps into powerful impact: connecting people through a shared purpose and encouraging conversations around pancreatic cancer.
This year will once again begin with a vibrant sea of purple T-shirts. Participants from the Viridian Foundation will make their way to the Jreissati Pancreatic Centre in Richmond on July 1st to meet with the Centre team and celebrate the start of this year’s challenge.
