This July, the community came together in an inspiring show of solidarity for the Viridian Foundation’s Walk for Rita, a heartfelt initiative raising awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer. What began as a tribute has grown into a powerful movement, engaging teams from across corporate partners, Epworth HealthCare, and local businesses, all stepping out with purpose to make a difference.

Now in its fourth year, the Walk for Rita has evolved into a highlight on the Centre’s calendar, bringing together patients, donors, advocates, and supporters from all walks of life. This year’s walk was especially meaningful, with funds raised going directly to support the APRISE study, a national high-risk pancreatic cancer screening program led by the Centre.

The energy, commitment, and compassion shown by every participant was nothing short of extraordinary. Whether walking in memory, in support, or in hope, each step taken helped shine a light on a disease that desperately needs more attention and investment.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part, donated, or cheered from the sidelines. Your dedication is helping change outcomes for people facing pancreatic cancer, and together, we’re building a future of earlier detection, better care, and greater hope.

Here’s to the walkers, the changemakers, and the champions of Rita’s legacy. We can’t wait to walk with you again next year.
