The Jreissati Pancreatic Centre at Epworth has launched a suite of resources to better support individuals living with pancreatic cancer.
Developed in collaboration with the Centre’s Community Advisory Panel, the newly revamped My Care Plan Diary aligns with the Cancer Council’s Optimal Care Pathway and consolidates medical details, treatment plans, and appointment logs into a single, central resource.
"A well-organised resource like the My Care Plan is essential. It will empower patients to actively participate in their care, which can be incredibly complex and stressful," said Centre Director A/Prof Metz.
The My Care Plan is available free of charge and can be requested through the website.
To complement the diary, the Centre has expanded its online resource library with eight new educational videos. These videos provide insights into what to expect during procedures and treatments such as chemotherapy and surgery and are designed to demystify the experience for patients and their families.
"Our goal with these videos is to reduce the anxiety and uncertainty that often accompanies a cancer diagnosis," said A/Prof Metz. “By providing clear, accessible information, we can help patients and their families feel more prepared and informed throughout their care.”
