On Cancer Nurses Day, 14 August 2025, we recognise the essential role that the Centre’s specialist nurses play in the care of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Their expertise, dedication, and support are crucial in navigating the complexities of diagnosis and treatment, and they truly make an enormous difference in improving patient outcomes.
A diagnosis of pancreatic cancer is not just a medical challenge; it is also an emotional and psychological burden. Patients and families are often faced with a range of uncertainties, from treatment decisions to understanding the implications of the diagnosis on their daily lives. Pancreatic nurses provide invaluable support by offering guidance and information, helping patients navigate through the complex healthcare system, and providing a compassionate ear when needed.
Alongside clinical care, they help patients manage pain, treatment side effects, and emotional wellbeing. Their role extends to supporting families, who also feel the weight of a diagnosis. This is why the Jreissati Pancreatic Centre is committed to a multidisciplinary model of care that brings together oncologists, surgeons, and the specialised support of our nurses.
The impact of this care is reflected in the feedback from one of our patients:
My wife and I wanted to personally thank you. Your professionalism, support, and unwavering determination has made an incredible difference in those times when my wife and I were fearful and unsure what the future may hold.
By offering specialised care and connecting patients with resources, our pancreatic nurses help ease the burden on families during what is often the most difficult time of their lives. From diagnosis through treatment and beyond, their support ensures no one has to face this journey alone.
